It’s getting closer to summer! (even though it snowed today lmao) but I thought to share with you all some hair tea recipes! It’s tea but for your hair! I’m doing this because I just recently bleach and dyed my hair and I want to make it as healthy as possibly before I try to keep maintaining the hair color red.
The recipe I use is this
- Rose
- Lavender
- Rosemary (Peppermint also if I don’t have any rosemary!)
- Apple Cider vinegar
Here’s a list for different herbs you can use for your hair needs!
- Peppermint – Reduces/balances sebum production, dandruff, helps to clam the scalp and is just as great to use if your growing your hair out because it does indeed help with hair growth.
- Rosemary – helps to increase your hair growth rate and helps to strengthen it. It also helps with dandruff. However it does bring out dark highlights within your hair.
- Lavender - Stimulates hair growth, balances sebum production, helps with inflammatory scalp ailments.
- Parsley- enriches hair color and gives a nice luster
- Sage - Is good for weak brittle hair, helps with dandruff and gradually darkens your hair.
- Thyme - good for oily hair and dandruff
- Chamomile - Softens hair, soothes the scalp, lighten and conditions and also stimulate growth.
- Horestail - helps keep your hair strong and helps with breakages, it also adds shine to your hair to make it look more healthy.

BE SURE TO READ ABOUT THE CRYSTALS BEFORE YOU TRY PLACING THEM IN WATER IF YOU WISH TO USE THEM WITHIN YOUR HAIR TEA RINSE
How to make the hair tea
If you don’t have any herbs, you can use tea bags. However you will want to boil some water and let the tea steep within it. You may add 1 to 2 table spoons of apple cider vinegar to it if your wanting to do a quick hair rinse.
However I suggest you pouring the apple cider vinegar into a mason jar and placing the fresh herbs within it. You could heat up the vinegar to draw more of the natural oils from the herbs. When you do this it’s best to keep it in the fridge and only taking a little bit of the mixture out into a bowl or a cup and mixing it with water (any water is good)
Also, the reason why it’s good to use apple cider vinegar (with the mother) in it is because it helps with scalp conditions and helps to cleanse it. However it’s perfectly fine to just use water.
How to use a the tea for your hair
You’ll want to pour the mixture into your hair after your done shampooing and conditioning your hair. You do not rinse it out. You could let the ends of your hair sit in the mixture if it’s long enough for a few seconds.
If you don’t like the texture it makes you hair you can shampoo first, use the tea rinse while massaging it into your scalp and then using a conditioner afterwards.
You can also just use it in a spray bottle to make it easier!
